Software Developer Intern-Trainee

The Core Platform Architecture and Engineering team helps the organization through research of cutting edge technologies and designing and implementing patterns to solve our business problems. As an intern in this team, you will have the opportunity to learn new technologies, understand practices like MicroServices, Cloud, DevOps, and practice implementing solutions by adopting industry best practices.
Position Requirements – Day to Day Tasks:
Develop services using Java, SpringBoot, Mule, AWS and/or other cloud technologies
Research and customize implementation of open source tools for CI/CD
Document and present solution designs/approaches to supervisors and other members of the team
Entry level position; candidate must be motivated and willing to learn
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field required or to be completed by December 2018
Some experience with open source Operating Systems like Linux or any other Unix flavor
Some experience with languages like Java, Go, Node.js, or Python
Perseverance to drive a hard problem to conclusion under supervised guidance
Awesome skills in writing software with minimal bugs.
Ability to mix fun and work
Nice to Have
Have a real passion for software development, as demonstrated by previous internships, work experience, projects, or publications
Deep understanding of data structures, in particular how they are implemented and how to apply them to solve problems
Familiarity with application of common design patterns

Use of hands is required for such technological devices such as a computer, telephone, blackberry and others. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will be required to travel (sometimes long distances) to attend required meetings.
The work is limited to the office environment with occasional trips to other office facilities or locations necessitating walking outdoors or driving. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
