Job Description

Job Title: Full-Stack Software Developer       

Location: Blacksburg, VA

Clearance Required: Secret Clearance

PURPOSE OF JOB: 

The Full-Stack Software Developer will provide software development expertise for an end-to-end data flow system based on the framework and requirements provided by a major Federal customer. In this role, the candidate will design, implement, develop, test, and deploy software systems, including configuration management and systems configuration. The candidate will assist with creating tests for newly developed code and will be highly involved in developing core functionality of existing systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Design and implement maintainable full-stack software solutions from the backend databases through services/APIs to front end web interfaces
  • Conduct systems analysis and programming activities for the development, maintenance, and installation of computer programs to support internal business operations
  • Use engineering best practices to apply basic principles, theories, and concepts to job assignments
  • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve software bugs utilizing approved configuration management and deployment procedures
  • Work with other software developers, supervisors, product managers, senior leadership, and customers as needed

KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Java 7+: three or more years of experience
  • Jetty 8+ or 9+: two or more years of experience
  • ActiveMQ 5+: two or more years of experience
  • SQL databases (mySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.): three or more years of experience
  • Unix/Linux: two or more years of experience
  • Existing (Active or Inactive) DoD security clearance (DoD Secret or higher)

 DESIRE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: 

  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum development techniques and processes
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
