Provides administrative, fiscal, and program support for the Virginia Tech Roanoke Center. Administrative duties include but are not limited to serving as the executive assistant to the director; answering phones; sending and receiving mail and email; drafting, formatting, and editing correspondence; managing team travel; maintaining office files; and greeting visitors, faculty, and students. Fiscal responsibilities include but are not limited to issuing and paying invoices; reconciling center operating funds and budgets; organizing data and reports; funds handling; managing program funds; and serving as organizational fiscal contact. Program support duties include but are not limited to providing registration and room setup support for events; preparing materials for continuing and professional education (CPE) classes; making arrangements for meetings and catering; managing speaker/instructor human resource documentation and travel; coordinating required program setup and CEU documentation; and utilizes databases to manage program information.
Previous administrative or program support experience in an academic or professional environment; working knowledge of Microsoft office products, databases, and Outlook email; possess the ability to work independently with limited supervision, a team player who exhibits good problem solving skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to safely, occasionally, and independently move and handle up to 50 lbs.
Strong editing and proofreading skills; knowledge of college/university, state, or government procedures; experience with finance databases such as Banner or a related system; knowledge and/or experience working with community activities or event planning; experience working with budgets
