About the Role:

Serve as a member of the Corporate Strategy team and collaborates with leaders across the business to develop, conceptualize, and expand upon business and revenue models to provide insights into future financials and provide a tool to help facilitate executive decision making. Provide advanced data analyses, studies, insights, and solutions that will have a direct impact on company decision making.

Responsibilities: 

  • Understand business needs and opportunities that can be addressed using data and advanced analytics.
  • Define business outcomes, draw hypotheses and transform into advanced analytics solutions (e.g.: predictive analytics, prescriptive analytics, other advance model techniques, data science tools and techniques, etc.).
  • Develop the solution and/or interface with Data Engineers, as appropriate, validate and follow-up with stakeholders to ensure business outcomes are being achieved, and iterate as needed.
  • Ensure alignment and manage stakeholders’ expectations on everything associated with the task at hand.
  • Prepare and present the conclusions and/or recommendations with complete and accurate data and information using the most proper method for each situation.
  • Interface with Strategy team, leadership, and Executives.
  • Partner with Torc Financial team.
  • Be a reference in the company and in the strategy team for advanced analytics, approaches, and techniques.
  • Identify the needs for new metrics, propose, design and implement them, and work with internal and external parties as appropriate to research and acquire needed data.

Qualifications: 

  • 8+ years of experience with financial models and data collection and analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience working with modeling tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • 3+ years of experience working in Asset Liability Management (ALM) or Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration field required. Masters preferred.
  • Experience with coding languages of Python, R, or SQL a plus.
  • Experience in transportation/logistics industry or related field a plus.
  • Experience working in Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools (i.e. Tableau and Birst) and Agile development methodologies.
  • Deep experience in consulting for analytics (requirements, planning, execution, manage stakeholder’s expectations, results).
  • Deep experience working with Power BI or similar tools.
  • Deep experience in one more languages/scripts for data analysis (e.g.: R, Python, etc.).
  • Experience developing predictive, prescriptive models, machine learning models for BI.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Advanced SQL a plus.
  • Strong analytical ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems.
  • Strong appreciation for analytics, critical thinking and data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to build trust and strong working relationships, effectively create and proofread documents and reports, and communicate to a diverse workforce.
  • Keen attention to detail to identify problems and processes that don’t comply with protocol.
  • Critical/logical thinking to identify problems and provide solutions to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Strong business insight and judgment, team orientation and collaborative style.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to plan, develop, coordinate resources, prioritize effectively, and maintain competing demands simultaneously with frequent interruptions and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to ethically handle sensitive and confidential information with impartiality and professionalism.
