General Role Description
Develop and maintain a department capable of providing accurate and timely financial information, effective cost accounting systems, and general business accounting services, which enable the business unit (BU) to meet its commitments
Role Accountabilities
Ensure the effective design, development, implementation, measurement, and management of finance and accounting systems to continuously increase capability and performance
Build and lead a team of committed and capable employees to ensure successful delivery of finance services aligned with business objectives
Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, corporate company credit cards, travel and living expense reports, fixed assets, payroll processing, and inventory transactions
Ensure the monthly and annual closing process results in timely and accurate financial statements
Provide accurate product costs for quoting and for cost improvement tracking
Calculate and report the cost of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory
Calculate and prepare the business unit financial budget for the fiscal year
Provide timely and accurate data to external financial audit firm
Ensure timely and accurate labor, material, and overhead reports

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent via education and/or work experience
5 years’ professional or managerial accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated cost accounting experience
Demonstrated experience leading a team to achieve business goals
Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection
Proficiency in financial module of an ERP system
Demonstrated knowledge of applicable legislation and regulatory guidelines and their impact on business processes and strategy
Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility
Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Windows
Availability to travel, domestically and internationally, less than 5%
Preferred Qualifications
CPA
Demonstrated ability to analyze and project financial impact of multi-currency, multi-entity transactions on the general ledger
Experience in a business with foreign ownership, preferably Japanese
