Mechanical (CAD Design) Engineer
Aeroprobe Corporation designs, builds, and markets scientific instrumentation used in aerodynamic and hydrodynamic research. Our main line of products consists of multi-hole probes that measure flow velocity in gas and liquid media. Researchers and engineers will find probes appropriate for any application including turbulence characteristics, reversed flow and, and high temperatures. Aeroprobe’s technology portfolio includes a novel additive friction stir process.
As a Mechanical (CAD Design) Engineer, you must be able to design for the manufacturing of CNC machined stainless steel and superalloy aerospace components and assemblies. The engineer must convert conceptual product designs to manufacturable designs using available manufacturing processes. Product designs may be created using a library of pre-existing models or by designing new component models, as necessary. The engineer will also create detailed dimensioned drawings for customer approval (often interfacing directly with the customer) and support manufacturing system by providing detailed manufacturing drawings and collaborating with manufacturing personnel to iterate toward an optimal solution.
B.S. Mechanical Engineering preferred but two year technical degree acceptable.
Minimum of two years of relevant experience.
CAD modeling proficiency required. SolidWorks experience strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of machining, cutting tool selection, CNC operations, and G-Code generation desired.
Experience with manual machining preferred.
Experience with customer interaction preferred.
Experience with industrial machine design preferred.
Experience with LabView/Matlab preferred.
