Job Description

VPT, Inc., a global leader in providing power conversion solutions for use in avionics, military, space, and industrial applications, seeks a full-time Quality Systems Associate for their office in Blacksburg, VA.


This position in the Quality Department will report to the Quality Assurance Manager.  A highly organized candidate with excellent communication skills is ideal.

The Role:
At VPT, we are looking for a self-motivated Quality Systems Associate with a passion for consistency and efficiency while maintaining a high level of quality.  You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and other department personnal to ensure that SOPs and manufacturing documentation are controlled, distributed, and accurate.  You will work with Product Oeprations to ensure product data packages are prepared and provided to meet customer schedules.  In addition, you will be an integral part of continuous improvement projects while also supporting internal/external audits as neceesary.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The Quality Systems Associate will:

  • Champion the electronic workflow throughput of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Electronic distribution of SOPs and Manufacturing Documents
  • Release approve documents in the QMS
  • Ensure documentation, form, and number format and integrity remain consistent
  • Assign electronic Training and Tet materials to personnel
  • Generate End Item (Product) Data Packages for product shipments
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with Audits (internal and external)
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with Continual Process improvement initiatives
  • Draft various documentation and forms
  • Control the assembly part numbering system



Associates degree required (will consider applicant's experience in place of a degree)



  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal skills (technical, business, medical or legal writing experience preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
  • Document control, Business administration, Medical administration or Paralegal experience preferred
  • Experience with Electronic Quality Management systems preferred
  • Experience with Qualtrax (Electronic Quality Management System) preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) a plus
