The Roanoke College Systems Administrator successfully manages the College’s systems infrastructure; ensuring the College’s systems are world class, up-to-date, reliable, secure and provide the environment needed by the clients for innovation and cutting edge technology. S/he works effectively with the IT staff to ensure that the division is prioritizing upgrades and changes in line with the strategic goals of the College and needs of our clients. S/he is responsible for Data Center performance and recovery, capacity planning to ensure scalability, and equipment lifecycle management. S/he establishes and supports new systems applications that enhance administrative and educational technology and the residential experience.
The position is primarily responsible for administering the following systems:
Hours are 8AM–4:30PM or 8:30AM–5:00PM, Monday through Friday (determined by department director). Division Hours of Operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM–5:00PM with occasional after-hours emergency, maintenance, client service and on-call responsibilities.
