Position Summary

The Senior System Administrator is responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting the company’s computer systems. The Senior Systems Administrator must be well versed in core infrastructure technologies such as Windows Server, virtualization, Azure and Office 365, SQL, and related systems. Additionally, the Systems Administrator should have a background in the fundamentals of network design and architecture for these technologies, as well as project management experience leading new implementations in these areas.


  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage servers, and integrate automation processes
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
  • Perform, test, and verify regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to users.
  • Coordinate and/or perform hands-on fixes, including installing and upgrading software and hardware
  • Provide end-user support as needed while ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Installs, configures, and maintains IPS/IDS, Firewall, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Anti-Malware, etc. for maximum network protection.
  • Maintains all data used for redundancy efforts and assists with remediation efforts as a result of test findings and risk assessments.
  • Assists with software upgrades and installations. Provide leadership and advice on updating versions and patches of server software.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation.


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business information systems, or a related degree
  • 5 - 7 years of IT experience with 3-5 years performed as a high-level systems administrator
  • Certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, Sec+, VMware and other industry-related certification highly preferred
  • Experience managing Windows servers in a virtualized environment
  • Proficient with Active directory OU’s, GPOs, PowerShell, permissions, and groups
  • Strong working knowledge of file storage, NAS, SAN, vSAN
  • Familiar with cloud strategies involving AWS or Azure
  • Strong working knowledge of networking concepts (routing, DNS, DHCP, VPN etc.).
  • Understanding of security frameworks such as CIS, PCI, and NIST.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
