Aeroprobe Corporation designs, builds, and markets scientific instrumentation used in aerodynamic and hydrodynamic research. Our main line of products consists of multi-hole probes that measure flow velocity in gas and liquid media. Researchers and engineers will find probes appropriate for any application including turbulence characteristics, reversed flow and, and high temperatures. Aeroprobe’s technology portfolio includes a novel additive friction stir process.
Job Description Aeroprobe provides air data measurement systems to aerospace, automotive, turbomachinery, wind turbine, and wind tunnel testing industries around the world. Aeroprobe’s air data systems for unmanned aircraft provide real time air speed, angle of attack and angle of sideslip for improved flight performance. Turnkey systems include instrumentation for measurement, hardware for data collection, and software for data reduction, analysis and visualization. 

Aeroprobe is committed to advancing the field of metal manufacturing by building a unique metal deposition process to help our users additively manufacture, join, coat, and repair their products in the widest variety of materials possible. We seek a talented individual to lead applied research and advanced engineering for our Additive Friction Stir technology.

The Additive Manufacturing Manager will:
  • Be responsible for the development strategy, technical path, and key technology direction
  • Develop and lead research projects
  • Build and lead teams
  • Collaborate with strategic research partners
  • Develop and deliver publications, presentations, and contributions as a thought leader in our field
  • Interface with customers
  • Manage patent portfolio
  • Manage data and build scalable computational software tools to analyze data
  • Advance the understanding and maturity of AFS across a spectrum of applications and materials
What we are looking for:
  • PhD in materials or mechanical engineering or related fields from a highly reputable institution
  • 3+ years of hands on research experience in a related field, industrial experience preferred
  • Highly cited publications in relevant fields
  • Expert knowledge of solid-state processes and strong understanding of physical metallurgy of aluminum and steels
  • Communication skills necessary to report, propose, educated and advise different audiences on complex technical matters. Success is highly dependent upon the level and proficiency of communication/writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and analyze research data
