Job Description Sr. Electrical Engineer
Prime Photonics specializes in the development of robust sensors for austere environments. Our commercial FOCIS system is a fiber optic tip timing and tip clearance system for the capture and analysis of gas turbine engine data. Multiple other advanced sensor systems are currently under development through a combination of federal, commercial, and internal R&D funding. Applications for our technologies and products include turbomachinery test and diagnostics, multi-property flow measurements, two-phase flow sensing, austere environment pressure and temperature sensing, and condition/health monitoring systems for turbomachinery and other rotating equipment.
We are looking for a creative engineer to join our R&D team. The ideal applicant will be proficient in idea generation, research planning and execution, hands-on experimentation, and data analysis. The person hired for this position will collaborate with technical staff on multiple simultaneous projects, contribute to the innovation process, and must possess the following required skills.
Required Skills
  • Analog hardware design, simulation, and PCB layout
  • Digital design
  • C / C++ / embedded code
  • Experience with custom experimental apparatus design and development
  • Proficiency with laboratory optical, mechanical, and/or electronic instrumentation
  • Excellent written and oral communication

Some travel may be required (less than 10%).  A B.S. in engineering with 3+ years of related R&D experience is required. An M.S or Ph.D. in engineering is a plus.
