Job Description
Radford University invites applications for the position of Multimedia Classroom Tech in the Division of Information Technology. This position Provide support for the installation and maintenance of a/v technologies in campus classroom meeting spaces and other venues. Work collaboratively in a team environment. Assemble and install AV components and wire equipment racks per engineering documentation. Pull terminate, label and test cabling for audio, video, data and control equipment. Correctly and safely mount, test and calibrate equipment to include projectors, screens, monitors, cameras and speakers. Test cabling and equipment to ensure systems are in good working order. Communicate with Lead Technician with status updates identifying issues and resolutions, working with subcontractors and/or third parties as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
Must have working knowledge of electronics, a/v and computer systems. Ability to solder and construct cables. General trades familiarity. Knowledge of proper operation of power tools. Proficiency in reading and understanding electronic wiring diagrams, technical requirements, and specifications. Strong problem solving skills. Ability to work effectively with clients and co-workers with minimal supervision. Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting a/v technology in meeting spaces, projection systems/display devices, Crestron control systems, switching, routing, interfacing technology, video conferencing and audio conferencing technologies. Ability to install, operate and service most AV equipment and systems.
