Aeroprobe’s technology portfolio includes a novel additive friction stir process.
Job Description
Our team is growing, and MELD Manufacturing is looking for a self-motivated, hardworking, quality minded, safety-focused Process Engineer. As Process Engineer you will be an important part of our team, at the forefront of development for specific applications and materials to ensure quality, cost, and production targets are met.
Process Engineer Job Description
Develop the MELD process for specific applications and materials to ensure quality, cost, and production targets are met. Troubleshoot problems with processes and implement corrective actions. Operate MELD machines to develop best practices for different materials and customer specific applications. Work closely with engineering and metallurgy team on technical issues and problem solutions. Compile and present data to management related to both IRAD and production activities.
Primary responsibilities
  • Setup, program and operate our CNC controlled MELD 3D metal printers
  • Support developing process flow and experiments for new materials and applications
  • Perform experiments
  • Compile results and prepare reports and/or presentations
  • Work closely with metallurgists and material and process team
  • Identify potential improvement opportunities to hardware and software development teams
  • Support continuous improvement in automated processing
Other responsibilities may include:
  • Create engineering file for use in part manufacturing
  • Support MELD integration into 3rd party software platforms, for example slicer software
  • Create and implement standard work instructions for operation of MELD machines
  • Create and maintain necessary process documentation for standardized operation
  • 2 or 4 year degree in engineering or engineering technology
  • Experience with metal 3D printer operation
  • Experience with CAD to CAM or slicer software
