Job Description The Montgomery County General Services Department is seeking a Laborer. Reporting to the Consolidated Site Supervisor, this position will perform routine, unskilled manual work in support of various solid waste collection functions, including clean-ups, transporting collection containers, light repairs, and loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment.  Recyclable materials, such as white goods, electronics, barrels of oil, single stream, paper, and cardboard are also collected.
High school diploma/GED preferred; no related experience necessary. The position requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively in both an independent and team environment. Valid Virginia driver’s license and driver history that meets insurability guidelines required.
Starting salary $33,898; dependent on experience and qualifications, plus excellent benefits (health, dental and vision, flex spending, life, disability, VRS retirement, 401 & 457 retirement options, onsite clinic, wellness programs, and much more).
