  • Seeking a full-time Project Specialist, Dual Career Program
The Dual Career Program assists the senior leadership in hiring top academic and administrative faculty talent by providing assistance with employment resources for the spouses and partners of academic leaders and professionals who fill critical roles at the institution and within the community. The Project Specialist, Dual Career Program position is a vital role designed to provide best in class specialty hiring services to support Virginia Tech faculty spouses and partners.
The incumbent serves to collaborate with the Dual Career Manager and Talent Acquisition team to provide strategic services to dual career partners. S/He will interact and develop key relationships with customer leaders and departments to identify openings. S/He coordinates the development of a dual career marketing events, manage social media as well as seek job opportunities for dual career clients. S/He engages with the local business community and trade organizations as needed. S/He must be creative and flexible, and understanding to meet the evolving needs of accompanying partners. The project specialist will support the dual career program through client intake and correspondence, service analysis, social media and event planning, job research and customer service working with dual career partners and academic leaders.

Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, communications or other related field required.
  • Experience providing project and program support in a dynamic customer- facing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge working with various social media platforms.
  • Demonstrated skills in research analysis with acute attention to detail.
  • Offers excellent customer service experience with the ability to work, collaborate and communicate with a diverse group of clients.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to provide excellent communications with emphasis on written correspondence and strong interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to make public presentations and think creatively in assisting dual career partners in relocating to the area.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in advising, counseling, or assisting candidates in the job search process.
  • Preferred experience with Adobe applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruiting and sourcing preferred.
