Job Description
Title:                                       Marketing Communication Specialist

Reports To:                           Manager, Marketing
FLSA Status:                         Non-Exempt
Partner with the Marketing Manager to support and assist with the development of internal and external marketing campaigns, advertising materials, media planning, written and oral communication, social media management, and event support. Job responsibilities also include working with Distributor Care Team to maintain relationships with domestic and international distributors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage daily administrative tasks to ensure the marketing department runs smoothly
  • Assist in outbound or inbound marketing activities by demonstrating expertise in various areas (content development and optimization, advertising, events planning etc.)
  • Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels (social media, e-mail, direct mail)
  • Coordinate with the advertising agency to create advertising material
  • Create reports on marketing and sales metrics, such as conversion rates
  • Collaborate with marketing and other professionals to coordinate brand awareness and marketing efforts to help shape future marketing strategies
  • Undertake individual tasks of a marketing plan as assigned
  • Gather, organize, and maintain data to allow for competitor analyses
  • Review available market research to identify new revenue opportunities
  • Gather and analyze consumer behavior data (e.g. web traffic and rankings)
  • Hands-on involvement in a variety of marketing logistics, including event production, registration(s), booth scheduling, travel arrangements, and shipping
  • Provide support and coordinate participation in trade shows and/or conferences
  • Ensure the maintenance, accuracy, and integrity of information in current database(s) for industry and/or customer contacts
  • Responsible for basic maintenance and/or updates to website
  • Other duties as assigned

Internal and External Communication
  • Meet and communicate regularly with the Marketing Manager to ensure ongoing open communication in regards to sales and marketing activities
  • Work collaboratively with IV staff to facilitate internal communication plans
  • Produce marketing copy for website
  • Be able to write copy for marketing material
  • Craft and execute internal corporate newsletter
  • Liaise with external vendors to execute promotional events and campaigns
  • Maintain and write content for social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn
  • Be able to work with design team to create materials such as videos and marketing tools
  • Able to represent company at conferences and trade shows
Distributors and Sales
  • Support and assist company initiatives to locate new distributors and opportunities for the company
  • Collaborate with distributors to enhance and/or assist with marketing initiatives
  • Conduct new distributor training as necessary
  • Track and maintain distributor database, notes and sales data
  • Maintain on-going communication with distributors to facilitate positive working relationships

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field of study or a combination of education and/or experience to meet the requirements of the job
  • Minimum of three years job-related experience
  • Needs to have excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate with a wide variety of individuals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • PC and/or Mac proficiency with a comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiar with website content editing
  • Thorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/Social media etc.) and market research methods
  • Knowledge of marketing digital tools and techniques
  • Interest in following advertising and media trends
  • Well-organized and detail oriented
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a goal-oriented attitude
  • Must be able to travel
  • Able to work independently
