Job Description
The Lead Technical Consultant leads a team of technical consultants in all technical aspects of APM implementation projects. Will work as an integral member of the project team, architect the solution to be delivered, lead the project resources in the delivery, and deliver technical activities during the project. Will oversee and ultimately be responsible for the quality of the solution delivered. Will develop task lists for new work and support ongoing estimates during project execution. Responsible for oversight and coaching of junior team member’s work quality, technical skills, and project implementation practices. Will develop best practices for technical processes and educate other team members on those processes. Will perform various technical activities including server and software installation, building data visualization components, data migration activities, and writing code to customize the client’s system to fulfill their requirements. This is a client-facing role that requires flexibility and self-motivation to meet deadlines and client expectations.
Responsibilities
Serve as technical expert for the implementation of APM software, primarily, but not limited to, the GE APM Enterprise software and the Itus Digital software
Architect the client’s APM solution
Develop scope of work for the technical portion of APM proposals
Educate clients in the use of the configured APM system
Work with stakeholder, at all levels, to clearly articulate complex concepts and ideas
Influence decisions on design and functionality to keep projects on track in terms of budget, time, and client expectations
Estimate the technical work for new projects and the time remaining (ETC) for ongoing projects
Design, implement and document the APM workflows to meet client functional specifications
Develop technical specifications for the solution to be delivered
Effectively leverage APM product capability, driving standardization, limiting customization, and maximizing reuse of content developed for previous solutions
Own and manage the technical deliverables throughout the entire project lifecycle
Troubleshoot issues with clients and conduct technical lessons learned
Support the project team throughout client engagement to identify scope changes and adhere to the agreed change management process
When needed, step into any ongoing project to ascertain risk in the existing design, and develop a plan for mitigation
Develop best practices on how to configure, implement, and guarantee quality in our work
Serve as a technical expert and mentor for Technical Consultants
Understand the functional purpose and execution of the APM product suite and its workflows
Maintain strong client relationships
Fulfill all project management duties when required
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in Meridium, leading GE/Meridium Enterprise APM implementations
Minimum 5 years of experience in client-facing consulting, leading software implementation projects
Excel with SQL and have advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL, Oracle and, SQL Server database management systems
Excel with VB .NET for building business rules within the context of the GE Enterprise APM product
Excel in the development of data visualization using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
A strong drive to excel at and teach the technical skills and product knowledge required to do the job successfully
Proven track record of excellent customer service in delivering technical solutions with a mindset to exceed their expectations
Ability to lead a team of peers and oversee their work
Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
Ability to perform required job activities with little to no support from others
Excellent Logic/Troubleshooting abilities
Positive, outgoing attitude
Self-starter in a fast-paced environment
Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects
Ability to participate in client workshops, strategy, and planning sessions to help solve client issues
Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a fast-paced, multi-tasking development environment
General knowledge of industrial standards and best practices
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Desire to travel up to 75%
