Process Engineer, Research Innovation and Supply, Salem, VA
We are seeking a Process Engineer to lead and support our current Fermentation process. You will focus on optimization of current processes and will also work on development of manufacturing capability for new products and technology transfer from pilot to commercial scale.  You will have the opportunity to work with a cross-functional group of colleagues to conduct engineering trials for equipment selection, design experiments, analyze and present data, and recommend process improvements.
 
In this position you need: 
•M.S. or B.S. in Chemical Engineering or Biochemical Engineering.
•3-5 years of industry experience in Fermentation (submerged and solid state).
•Experience with optimization/scale-up of biochemical processes.
•Statistical background including data analysis and design of experiments.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Microbiology knowledge and experience highly desired.
•Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple projects.

Desired traits would include:
•Experience with one or more of the following – Membrane Separation (ultrafiltration, microfiltration), Drying (freeze drying, spray drying), Centrifugation.
•Experience with commercial scale plant operations with understanding of compliance and license to operate requirements.
•Ability to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship.
