Job Description Aeroprobe is seeking a Metallurgist for its subsidiary MELD Manufacturing Corporation.

As a Metallurgist (or MELD-allurgist) you will work to develop and implement standards for ensuring the quality of materials produced by the MELD™ process. Work with development engineers to propose solutions to the development of new materials. Create inspection criteria for materials produced by the MELD™ process. Compile and present data to management.

Specific activities include:

  • Create and maintain quality control standards, including inspection criteria
  • Work to develop new materials and material combinations using the MELD™ process
  • Provide support to process development engineers in the creation of best practices
  • Provide support to application engineers with customer specific opportunities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science, Mechanical, Welding, Metallurgical, or Chemical Engineering. Recent college graduates will be considered. Advanced degree is preferred.
  • Must have experience with Aluminum, Steel, Titanium, and Nickel Alloys
  • Must have experience with SEM, TEM, and other advanced characterization methods
  • Experience with solid-state processes, such as MELD™, Friction Stir Welding, Friction Welding, etc. a plus!
  • Self-motivated and result oriented
  • Efficient and effective time management
  • Ability to work well within the team
  • Proficiency of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word required
