What you will be doing?

The HR Advisor is expected to support managers and employees at the highest level of confidentiality for a variety of tasks including but not limited to performance management, compensation, benefits, management of HRIS, workforce planning, employee and labor relations as well as other routine administrative duties. Key competencies required for this job include building constructive relationships, clear and concise communication, learning constantly, showing creativity, knowing the professional environment, interacting well with various levels of management as well as within the HR team, a drive for results, a focus on quality, and customer orientation.

The HR Advisor will work closely with the Human Resources Manager. This position will also be responsible for driving our friendly culture environment through various activities.

  • Represents the highest confidentially in all responsibilities and duties
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
  • Maintains a HRIS that meets organizational needs as it relates to benefits and employee information
  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters
  • Responsible for answering day to day employee questions
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance
  • Facilitates the Open Enrollment process; through broker relations and strategy meetings makes proposal to executive management regarding carrier changes, plan design changes and other offerings. Works with management to ensure they remain both competitive and cost-effective
  • Nurtures a positive working environment
  • Handles employee relations counseling, onboarding, offboarding, and exit interviews
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate for assistance on personnel matters
  • Performs benefits administration to include communicating benefit information to employees, working with broker on employee claim issues, reconciling monthly medical bills, and processing various claims, such as FMLA, STD, and LTD
  • Conducts all external employment verification requests and reference checks
  • Responsible for completing the onboarding process for all new hires, including initiating background checks, necessary workflows, and training setup
  • Ability to analyze data and provide various reports
  • Recommends new and innovative approaches to ensure the highest efficiency of the human resources department
  • Participates on committees and special projects

What you will be doing?

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in a related filed or comparable experience in lieu of degree, plus minimum of 2-5 years of related work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of HRIS administration and/or benefit experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of human resource reporting and record keeping requirements
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentially in all situations

The ideal candidate will have:

  • SHRM certification and/or working toward certification
