Job Description Radford University invites applications for the position of Web Developer in the Division of Information Technology.  This position serves as a lead for the development, implementation, administration, security and maintenance of the technical environment for the university content management system, portal, web & mobile apps and integration with other systems.

Required Qualifications:  Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and deploying dynamic web applications. Proficiency with the Java programing language, HTML, CSS, XML, and JavaScript. Ability to write SQL queries. Proficiency in Windows and Linux environments, security and scripting.  Ability to perform upgrades to middleware and application software. Familiarity with Network and Firewall concepts as they relate to Web Server administration. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:  Experience developing web applications using Java, JSP, and the Spring and Hibernate Frameworks. Experience installing, configuring, deploying and troubleshooting Apache/Tomcat servers. Knowledge of Ellucian Banner product integration and the use of REST APIs in general. Using a code repository for source code management. Using Splunk for monitoring and reporting. Working in a higher education setting.
