Montgomery County, Virginia, is seeking candidates for a position to oversee the County’s regulatory programs and engineering functions. The position will ensure compliance with laws, ordinances, and codes of the County’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) including, but not limited to; permitting activities, permit compliance, developing and administering policies, procedures, and fee schedules; administering the Erosion and Stormwater Management Ordinance including supervision of inspections, plan approval and enforcement; administer environmental functions including landfill post-closure reporting and sampling requirements on regulatory programs; and investigate and resolve citizen complaints. Must prepare and administer the Division budget, applicable ordinances, and fee schedules.
Successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, as well as a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia and experience with stormwater management programs. The preferred candidate should have 10 years of related experience, with at least four years in a supervisory capacity. The position requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively in both independent and team environments. VESCH and VSMP certifications preferred or ability to obtain within six months. Valid Virginia driver’s license and driver history that meets insurability guidelines required.
