The Montgomery County General Services Department is seeking an Operations Manager. This position will perform complex, high-level professional and administrative work overseeing the operational functions of the department. The position will demonstrate extensive knowledge of the practical, regulatory, and operational aspects in the areas of facilities and grounds maintenance, workplace safety and risk management, and fleet management services. Fleet management will include oversight and supervision of the garage operations. The position will oversee the implementation, compliance, and use of new facility management software. Work is performed under the supervision of the Director of General Services and exercises supervision over daily activities in the General Services Department. The position will coordinate maintenance activities with the Capital Projects Manager related to new construction and renovation projects. The position will establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with department heads, other employees, employees of other agencies, and the general public, and perform related work as required.
Education, training, and experience in related maintenance fields are required with emphasis on leadership and organizational management. Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in public facilities management. Supervisory experience is required. It requires a valid Virginia driver's license and a good driving record.
