The Corporate Partnerships Manager will play a critical role in driving revenue growth, diversifying funding sources, and strengthening partnerships to advance Roanoke Blacksburg Innovation Alliance’s mission. This individual will lead initiatives to secure corporate sponsorships, assist in developing grant proposals, and foster relationships with key donors and stakeholders. The ideal candidate is passionate about our cause, skilled in strategic development, and adept at cultivating lasting relationships.
The Roanoke Blacksburg Innovation Alliance brings together our Regional Accelerator and Mentoring Program, RAMP and the Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council, RBTC. The key to our success is largely dependent on the stellar ability of our board, team, collaborations, and partnerships.
Essential Functions:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including corporate sponsorships, grants, and individual donations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, foundations, community organizations, and individual donors.
- Develop and execute strategies for revenue diversification, exploring both traditional and innovative funding sources.
- Create partnership proposals, presentations, and fundraising materials tailored to various audiences.
- Oversee donor engagement strategies, ensuring personalized and consistent communication with supporters.
- Coordinate donor recognition activities and events to foster continued support.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop materials and campaigns that raise awareness and support for organizational efforts.
- Represent RBIA at events, conferences, and networking opportunities to increase visibility and engagement.
- Track and analyze data on business development activities, partnerships, and revenue generation.
- Prepare reports on business development performance and share insights to refine strategies.
Qualifications/Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, non-profit management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in business development, fundraising, grant writing, or a related field, ideally within the non-profit sector.
- Proven track record of securing grants, sponsorships, and other funding sources.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and sustain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment while maintaining a focus on detail and organizational priorities.
