Job Purpose:
The primary responsibility of the Sales Engineer is to act as a technical advisor and product advocate for the company's customers, ensuring complete satisfaction by providing reliable and effective solutions for both commercial and technical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Understanding Customer Needs:
- Research customer accounts to understand their needs.
- Identify key players within accounts and generate interest in the company's products and services.
Sales Lead Generation:
- Follow up on inbound leads and create new sales opportunities through:
- Cold calling and email outreach.
- Industry networking and attending trade shows.
- Direct customer visits.
Sales Performance:
Meet and exceed sales quotas by:
- Closing sales within assigned territories.
- Quoting sales for both new and legacy business.
- Targeting new accounts and maintaining reviews for top customers.
- Applying consultative selling techniques to foster long-term relationships.
Sales Engineering:
- Work on new product development projects.
- Serve as a liaison between the company and customers.
- Handle engineering change orders and process customer-initiated changes.
- Create and update Bills of Materials (BOM) for products.
- Ensure adherence to ISO quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 13485).
Order Processing & Customer Support:
- Assist in preparing customer quotes based on requirements.
- Collaborate with customer service for billing, pricing, shipping, and returns.
- Expedite orders and ensure timely delivery in coordination with the production manager.
Organizational Duties:
- Maintain an organized and structured work environment.
- Perform additional duties as required by the organization.
Qualifications:
- Strong phone presence with experience making 10-15 calls per day.
- Proficient with productivity tools and web presentations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
- Proven sales experience, particularly in selling custom manufactured products to OEM clients in the medical industry.
- Minimum: 2 years of college coursework in an engineering field.
- Preferred: 4-year degree in engineering or related field.
