Position Summary:

MELD Manufacturing Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Machinist to program, set up, and operate multiple CNC and/or manual machines in a fast-paced, ISO-certified manufacturing environment. This role requires deep technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously while maintaining strict quality and compliance standards.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Machine Programming and Operation
    • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or other equipment) to produce precision components.
    • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM data to develop machining strategies.
    • Perform adjustments and troubleshooting to optimize machine performance and ensure part accuracy.
    • Operate multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
  • Production and Process Control
    • Plan and prioritize machining operations to meet production schedules and deadlines.
    • Monitor machining processes and make real-time adjustments to ensure efficiency and consistency.
    • Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
    • Minimize scrap and rework through careful process control and continuous improvement.
  • ISO Compliance and Quality Assurance
    • Ensure all work complies with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and internal quality management systems.
    • Follow documented procedures, work instructions, and process controls.
    • Maintain accurate production and quality records in accordance with ISO requirements.
    • Participate in audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting
    • Perform routine machine maintenance and identify wear or issues that could impact quality or performance.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical or programming issues and collaborate with maintenance or engineering teams as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or associate degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of machining experience, including CNC programming and multi-machine operation.
  • Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting GD&T and technical drawings.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and G-code programming.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an ISO-certified environment (e.g., ISO 9001), including adherence to quality systems and documentation requirements.
  • Strong understanding of machining materials, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb stoop, kneel and lift and/or push/ pull up to 40 pounds. The employee must have color vision to work with color-coded components to correctly identify and trouble shoot systems
