Job Description

Position Summary:

MELD Manufacturing Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Research Coordinator to support externally funded research programs and collaborative partnerships. This role will assist in coordinating research activities, tracking project progress, and facilitating communication between internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate will provide operational and administrative support to ensure successful execution of research initiatives aligned with MELD’s additive manufacturing technology.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research Project Coordination
    • Assist in coordinating multiple research projects to ensure alignment with defined goals and timelines.
    • Track project progress, milestones, and deliverables, and report status to internal stakeholders.
    • Support scheduling and organization of project meetings, reviews, and deliverables.
    • Maintain project documentation, files, and records.
  • External Partner Support
    • Provide administrative and coordination support for proposal development and submission processes.
    • Help gather required technical, financial, and documentation inputs for externally funded programs.
    • Track proposal deadlines and submission schedules.
  • Program Execution Support
    • Assist project managers and technical leads in executing research programs.
    • Coordinate the transfer of project information between research and internal production or engineering teams.
    • Ensure project tasks are properly documented and communicated within internal systems.
  • Reporting and Documentation
    • Compile project updates, summaries, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Maintain accurate records of research activities in accordance with company and contract requirements.
    • Support preparation of presentations and technical summaries
  • Industry and Technical Awareness
    • Assist in monitoring industry trends and advancements in additive manufacturing and related fields.
    • Support research into potential partners, collaborators, and funding opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in a research, engineering, or project coordination environment.
  • Experience supporting technical projects or working in a manufacturing or R&D environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with project tracking tools and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exposure to externally funded programs or government contracting is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb stoop, kneel and lift and/or push/ pull up to 40 pounds.
