Job Summary

The Strategic Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through the 

development and expansion of Inorganic Ventures’ most strategic global customer relationships while 

identifying targeted opportunities for market expansion through direct sales efforts. This role focuses on 

increasing market penetration, expanding business within key accounts, and developing new 

opportunities aligned with the company’s strategic priorities.

The ideal candidate brings strong commercial acumen, executive presence, and the ability to build 

relationships across both technical and business stakeholders. Success in this role requires a consultative 

sales approach and the ability to navigate complex customer environments within scientific and technical

markets.

In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for variable compensation related to attaining 

customer-facing goals

Requirements

Responsibilities and Duties:

Strategic Business Development

  •  Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic global accounts to drive revenue growth, deepen 

market penetration, and expand business opportunities.

  •  Develop and execute account growth strategies that align customer priorities with Inorganic 

Ventures’ commercial objectives.

  •  Identify and pursue targeted new business opportunities to support market expansion and longterm growth.
  •  Develop accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting, and strategic growth plans for assigned 

accounts.

  •  Conduct periodic business reviews to assess customer objectives, market trends, and future 

opportunities.

  •  Manage complex, multi-site, and global customer relationships within assigned accounts.

Customer & Commercial Leadership

  •  Build and maintain strong relationships with executive, procurement, operational, and technical 

stakeholders within customer organizations, including laboratory leadership, quality managers, 

scientists, and operations teams.

  •  Lead commercial discussions including pricing, contract negotiations, and long-term business 

planning.

  •  Apply a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs, technical requirements, and 

business challenges while positioning Inorganic Ventures’ solutions effectively.

  •  Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned strategic accounts, ensuring a high level of 

responsiveness and customer engagement.

Market Intelligence & Strategic Growth

  •  Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging applications to identify opportunities 

for growth.

  •  Partner with Client Operations, Marketing, IAD, Product Strategy, and Technical teams to align 

customer needs with commercial and product strategies.

  •  Provide customer and market insights to support innovation, product development, and 

strategic decision-making.

  •  Maintain CRM documentation, opportunity tracking, and account activity to support forecasting 

and internal collaboration.

  •  Represent Inorganic Ventures at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings.

Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  •  5–10+ years of proven sales or business development experience, preferably within scientific, 

chemical, or technical markets.

  •  Proven ability to grow strategic customer relationships and expand market opportunities within 

a technical or scientific environment.

  •  Experience managing complex, multi-site, or global customer relationships.
  •  Strong commercial and business acumen with the ability to identify growth opportunities and 

navigate complex organizations.

  •  Demonstrated success building relationships with executive and technical stakeholders.
  •  Strong consultative selling, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  •  Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 25–40% of the time.
  •  Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred:

  •  Experience in chemical, scientific, or laboratory sales, preferably related to analytical chemistry,

certified reference materials, ICP/ICP-MS, metals, reagents, or adjacent scientific industries.

  •  Experience selling into laboratory, industrial, environmental, pharmaceutical, energy, or 

government markets

Base salary: $130,000-$150,000, plus incentive opportunities. Total annual compensation will vary based on performance.
